How will counselling help me?
Talking to a counsellor will give you the space to reflect on issues that are troubling you, away from the pressures of everyday life. It is a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental environment, where you can share your personal or work-related concerns, and work with the counsellor to make sense of how you are feeling and how you are being affected. We usually recommend a series of regular appointments to build a supportive relationship with your counsellor and bring continuity and focus to the process. Very occasionally, we will see someone for just one session – for instance to understand and recommend another specialist service.
What if I need to change, cancel or miss an appointment?
If you need to change or cancel an appointment for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible on 0117 342 3400 so we can still use the appointment.
Is counselling confidential?
Our counselling service is confidential, and we will not pass on any information to anyone else. The only exception to this is where there is a risk of significant harm to yourself or others, in which case, your counsellor would discuss these concerns with you where possible, and, when appropriate, provide support.
